This item is most beneficial to Wizards and Mages. This book, a guide to all the magical creatures living in Antonica, is an ancient text with unknown provenance, although some scholars think it was compiled by a lost High Elf enclave of Tunaria. The Compendium is organized according to Antonican geography, and each zone (such as Neriak, the Rathe Mountains, Stonehive, etc.) contains an alphabetical list of indigenous magical creatures and their corresponding characteristics, properties, and level of danger.
A drawing is included for each creature, along with hints and notes regarding behavior, diet, mating habits, and family organization. While the Compendium seems fairly complete, it is possible that the lost authors did not include all magical creatures, as everyone knows High Elves would never condescend to dig into burrows and such looking for creatures they assumed had no magical properties.
